2025 Annual Fee Review - Required by Statute

The Business and Professions Code requires the Department of Real Estate to hold at least one regulation hearing each year to consider its authorized fee structure. This year’s hearing will take place on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Please see the attached Notice for details of the hearing.



2025 - AB 2992 Buyer-Broker Representation Agreements

The Department of Real Estate (“DRE”) proposes a set of new regulations to implement portions of AB 2992 (Stephanie Nguyen, Chapter 516, Statutes of 2024). That legislation, along with this proposed set of regulations, requires that buyer-broker representation agreements be executed between buyers’ agents and buyers and specifies, among other things, term length, timing of execution, and renewal of such agreements as well as when they are required.
